AGILITY

Agility

In agility, a dog & handler work together as a team through a timed obstacle course. The course has jumps, tunnels, weave poles, and other obstacles.

AKC agility offers two types of agility classes. Standard Class which includes obstacles such as the dog walk, the A-frame, and seesaw, and Jumpers with Weaves, this class only has jumps, tunnels and weave poles. Both classes offer increasing levels of difficulty to earn Novice, Open, Excellent and Master titles. For more information on AKC Agility check out the AKC website. Unlike the AKC not all agility orginizations require dogs to be registered as pure bred dogs. The rules for competition & some of the equipment also varies by orginization. For agility competition in the united states there are also other orginizations besides the AKC, some examples: USDAA, NADAC & CPE.
